Understand “Why this ticket”
New tickets can keep the verified plate check behind the decision: when it ran, what covered the plate, relevant permit rules, outside payment-system status, and the officer’s action.
A ticket issued without a matching recent check says No plate check on file. Older tickets are not given an invented history.
Staff can copy or print the record. Exports show how many similar paid plates were found without listing those other drivers’ plates.
Driver photos and documents
When contesting an eligible ticket, a driver can attach up to five photos or PDFs, up to 4 MB each. Larger photos can be reduced by the form before upload.
Staff see the attachments alongside the driver’s statement and officer evidence in the contest queue. The upload is tied to the ticket.
Download the dispute packet
- 1Open the ticket dialog or its contest card.
- 2Choose Download dispute packet (PDF).
- 3Review the file before sharing it. It can include driver details, staff notes, and ticket history as well as photos and documents.
Unreadable or unsupported attachments are listed instead of embedded. The packet includes staff information; choose the appropriate recipient and use.
Keep the decision with staff
Approve or deny a contest after reviewing the evidence. If a paid ticket’s contest is approved, issue the refund using the ticket’s refund action.
The optional AI review is a recommendation only. It does not examine the newly attached driver files or the saved “Why this ticket” record, so staff must review those themselves.
