How drivers pay and contest tickets

Drivers scan the QR code on the ticket or enter the ticket number or plate on your site, then pay by card through Stripe and get an email receipt. Contests are submitted online and reviewed under Admin → Contests.

Evidence and the dispute packet

Review driver attachments and the available Why this ticket record alongside the officer evidence. Download dispute packet (PDF) gathers the available record for review.

The optional AI recommendation does not read the new driver attachments or saved plate-check record. Staff review these and decide the contest.

Paying a ticket

The QR code on every ticket opens the pay page for that ticket. Drivers can also go to your site and enter the ticket number or their license plate, then tap Continue to payment.

The pay page shows the amount due, the violation, the location, the due date and any late fees. Paying by plate lists every unpaid ticket on that plate, including a boot fee if there is one, so the driver can clear everything in one payment.

Card payment happens on Stripe’s secure checkout, and the driver gets an email receipt in your name, listing every ticket the payment covered. The money goes to your own Stripe account.

There’s no app to download and no account to create. Drivers pay the amount due, including any late fees you set, and Lotably adds no fee of its own.

How drivers contest

From your site, drivers can contest a ticket by entering the ticket number, their name and email (a phone number is optional), and why the ticket should be dismissed. Drivers can attach up to five photos or PDFs, up to 4 MB each, and explain when and how they paid, which lot, and what the signs said.

The due date doesn’t pause during review, and late fees still apply. Drivers can pay now and get a refund if the contest is approved.

Reviewing contests

  1. 1Open Admin → Contests. The Waiting tab lists the contests that need a decision.
  2. 2Read the ticket evidence (the officer’s photos and note) next to what the driver says.
  3. 3Add a Note for the driver if you like. It’s included in the decision email.
  4. 4Choose Approve and void ticket to cancel the ticket, or Deny to keep it due, then confirm. The driver is emailed either way.

If the ticket was already paid and you approve the contest, the driver is told a refund is coming. Use Refund the ticket on the same page to send it.

Payments taken another way

If a driver pays by cash or check, open the ticket under Admin → Tickets and use Mark paid, noting how it was paid. Void ticket cancels a ticket issued by mistake, and Refund returns an online payment.

Common questions

What does the driver see on the pay page?

The pay page shows the ticket number, plate, violation, location, who issued it, when, and the due date, so drivers know exactly what they’re paying.

Are drivers reminded about unpaid tickets?

If driver notice emails are on and the plate matches a parker with an email on file, Lotably emails them when a ticket is issued and again when it goes overdue.

Where do I set the due date?

On Admin → Policies, under Ticket due date. It’s printed on every ticket and used for the overdue list.
