Boot (wheel clamp)
A boot is a device locked onto a vehicle’s wheel so it cannot be driven until the owner pays to have it removed. Booting on private property is regulated by state or local law in many places and banned in some, with rules on signage, fee caps, response times, and licensing. Operators should confirm booting is allowed where they work before offering it.
