Contest / appeal

A contest, or appeal, is the process a driver uses to dispute a citation. The driver gives a reason and any evidence, and the operator or a hearing officer reviews it and records a decision to uphold, reduce, or dismiss the citation. Some laws require private operators to offer an appeal method, and a clear, documented process tends to reduce complaints and payment disputes.
