Grace period
A grace period is a short window after a vehicle arrives, or after a paid session or time limit ends, during which it will not be cited. It covers the time drivers need to read signs, pay, or walk back to the car, and it cuts down on disputes over a minute or two. Some state laws set a minimum grace period for private lots, so check the rules where the lot is.
