Gate arm

A gate arm is the barrier at a parking facility entrance or exit that lifts to let a vehicle through after a ticket is pulled, a credential is read, or a payment is made. It is the most visible part of a PARCS installation. Gated lots control access up front, while gateless lots let anyone park and rely on enforcement afterward.
