How the money works
On ParkMobile, drivers usually pay a transaction fee on top of your rate, set by location; ParkMobile’s help center lists examples such as $0.35 and $0.40 a session. Card processing is paid for too: in one city’s published 2019 contract with ParkMobile, the city paid a processing fee of 15¢ plus 3% of the parking fee. On Lotably there is no app fee. You set the price, drivers pay it on the web with no app or account, and on Starter Lotably takes 5% or 25¢ a session, whichever is less. Stripe’s standard pricing is 2.9% plus 30¢, charged on your own Stripe account.
On a $12 day where drivers pay $12.35 today, post $12.35 on Lotably: after Stripe’s 66¢ and Lotably’s 25¢, you keep about $11.44 a session, close to the $11.49 you would keep under the contract terms above, and your drivers need no app. That is a few cents less per session, not more, because Stripe’s standard card pricing runs a little above a negotiated processing rate. What changes the month is the software around it: Starter’s $99 covers enforcement, citations, permits, and monthly parkers, so the calculator sets it against what you pay for those tools today. Your own contract may differ, so check your settlement statement and put its numbers in the calculator.

How to switch
- Sign up online and connect your Stripe account. You’re live as soon as you sign up.
- Add your lots and rates. The “Coming from ParkMobile?” helper on your rates page suggests what to post.
- Print a QR poster or sticker for each lot and put it where drivers see the ParkMobile zone sign.
- Officers start checking plates from their phones. Import any sessions still paid elsewhere by CSV.
- Wind down ParkMobile on the timeline your contract allows.
Questions operators ask
Will my drivers pay more?
No. Post your current rate plus the fee drivers pay ParkMobile today, and drivers pay exactly the same total, with nothing added at checkout and no app or account. The difference that used to go to the app stays with you.
What does Lotably take on a daily parking session?
On Starter, 5% of the session or 25¢, whichever is less, so 25¢ on anything over $5. On Free, 12% or 35¢, whichever is less. Starter is $99 a month for up to 25 lots and includes enforcement, citations, permits, and monthly parkers. Stripe’s processing fees are separate and come out of your own Stripe account.
Can we keep our posted rates and add a service fee instead?
If your rates are set by council or printed on signs you can’t change yet, ask us. We can turn on a flat service fee per session that drivers see before they pay and that goes to you, and Lotably’s fee stays the same.
Can we run ParkMobile and Lotably side by side while we switch?
Yes. Connect your ParkMobile account to Lotably and choose a lot for each zone: paid ParkMobile sessions sync every 2 minutes, so officers see who already paid while you move lots over one at a time. Sessions from any other app can be added by CSV or by hand. On Starter, lots over 2 are $39 a month each while your Stripe account isn’t connected and taking payments, or after we tell you that more than the occasional payment is taken outside Lotably.
Where does the money go?
Every payment is a direct charge on your own Stripe account, so it settles to you on Stripe’s payout schedule. Lotably never holds your money.
