Honoring parking paid through another vendor

Open Paid parking data and enable the available sources you use. Parking BOXX, ParkMobile, and manual or CSV sessions can run together, alongside Lotably passes, guest passes, and permits.

Check freshness and health

Set the acceptable data age per system in Paid parking data; the default is 15 minutes. When relevant outside data cannot be verified, the scan screen warns the officer.

Insights → Payment system health shows last successful syncs, failures, retries, unmapped sites, and tickets issued while a system could not be checked.

Enable your sources

  1. 1Open Admin → Paid parking data.
  2. 2Enable Parking BOXX, ParkMobile, Added by hand or uploaded, or any mix of them. Leave them off if you use only Lotably’s own passes and permits.
  3. 3Click Save. Plate checks use the enabled sources together.

Lotably permits and passes remain available to the plate check independently of outside-source settings, subject to their lot, time, and permit rules.

Add sessions by hand

With Added by hand or uploaded enabled, a Paid sessions section appears. Enter the Plate and when it Expires, and optionally the Lot and the amount Paid ($). Leave the lot blank to make the session count at every lot.

Sessions drop off once they expire. Removing a session means the plate can be ticketed straight away.

Upload a CSV

Click Upload CSV in the Paid sessions section. The file needs a header row with plate and expires_at columns, and can also have starts_at, lot and amount. Up to 5,000 rows per file.

Write times like 2026-11-01 17:30:00. A date on its own means that whole day: an expiry date covers the full day, and a start date begins at midnight. The lot must match one of your lot names (capitalization doesn’t matter); leave it empty for all lots.

Lotably adds the good rows and tells you how many it skipped, such as rows with an unknown lot, an amount or date it can’t read, or an expiry before the start. Fix those rows and upload them again.

Keep commas out of the values themselves, since commas separate the columns.

Parking BOXX

If your lots use Parking BOXX, Lotably can pull paid sessions from your Parking BOXX sites every 2 minutes. Enable Parking BOXX, enter the sign-in details Parking BOXX gives you, and save. Then set each lot’s Parking BOXX site ID under Admin → Lots.

The sign-in details are stored encrypted and never shown again.

ParkMobile

If drivers pay for your lots in the ParkMobile app, Lotably pulls those paid sessions every 2 minutes, including extensions and stops. When an officer scans a plate that isn’t in the latest sync, Lotably asks ParkMobile directly, so a driver who paid moments ago still counts.

Enable ParkMobile, click Add ParkMobile sign-in details, and enter the username, password, and supplier ID ParkMobile issues for your account. Leave the API key blank unless ParkMobile gave your account its own.

Then, in ParkMobile zones, choose a lot for each zone (the number drivers enter in the app). Several zones can point to one lot. Zones you haven’t matched to a lot show under Insights → Payment system health.

If ParkMobile isn’t answering, the officer sees that the plate can’t be verified, never that it isn’t paid.

Common questions

My pay stations or parking app aren’t Parking BOXX or ParkMobile. Can Lotably connect to them?

Today you can add those payments by hand or by CSV. Send Lotably the vendor’s name: when the vendor offers an API, we build the connection at no extra cost. Some vendors charge for API access, and that fee is paid to them. Until the connection is live, keep adding those sessions by hand or by CSV.

Do I need this if drivers pay through Lotably?

No. Passes sold through your Lotably QR posters are already honored. This page is only for parking paid somewhere else.
