Pay station

A pay station is a kiosk in a parking lot or on a street where drivers pay for parking by card, coins, or sometimes bills. Networked pay stations usually run pay-by-plate or pay-by-space and send each paid session to the enforcement system as it happens, while older ones print a receipt for the dashboard. One kiosk can serve a whole block or lot, which is why pay stations often replace single-space meters.
