Towing
Lotably vs. Towbook
Towbook runs a tow company: dispatch, impound, liens, and motor clubs. Lotably runs parking enforcement and payments, the work that turns property contracts into paid citations.

The short answer
They do different jobs. Towbook is software for running a tow business, and its site doesn’t describe issuing citations or collecting violation payments. Lotably is the enforcement and payments system tow and patrol companies can use to offer cite-and-collect to property clients: warnings and citations drivers pay online, permits, guest passes, and daily parking, plus tow records and a one-tap call to your tow operation.
What Towbook is
Made by Extric LLC, per its site footer.
Towbook is cloud software for towing, roadside, and transport companies. It covers dispatching, impound and storage lot management, liens and auctions, billing, motor club integrations, and reporting, with iOS and Android driver apps. Its Professional tier and above add private property tools: tow notifications to property accounts, an authorized vehicle list, a property manager portal and app, property tags, and a web form for tow requests.
Payments run through the tow company’s own Square account. Towbook publishes its pricing, from $109 a month for up to 250 calls to $429 a month for up to 1,500, with a 30-day free trial, no contracts, and 24/7 phone support. A Square case study says it serves 12,000 towing, roadside, and transport businesses.
Where Lotably is different
Citations, not only tows
Towbook’s private property tools end in a tow, and its stickering feature is listed as beta. Lotably gives your officers warnings and photo-evidence citations with escalating fines, so a first-time violator pays online instead of getting towed.
Drivers pay from the ticket
Towbook takes payments through Square, including payment links on emailed invoices. A Lotably citation carries a QR code, so the driver pays from the windshield in about 30 seconds, and the money settles to your own Stripe account.
Permits, guest passes, and daily parking
Towbook offers an authorized vehicle list, and parking permit management is listed as beta. Lotably includes monthly permits with billing, resident-issued guest passes, and daily paid parking by QR poster, on every plan.
Priced by lots, not calls
Towbook tiers are priced by monthly call volume, with $149 for every 1,000 calls over the plan. Lotably is $0 a month plus 12% of online payments on Free, or $99 a month for up to 25 lots plus 5% on Starter.
A branded site for each client
Lotably gives your enforcement business its own branded site at yourname.lotably.com, and Custom plans give each brand or client its own workspace with its own fines and payout.

When Towbook may be the better fit
If you run a tow company doing motor club, police, and impound work, keep Towbook. Dispatch, storage, liens, auctions, and motor club billing are its core, and Lotably does none of them. Lotably fits next to it as the enforcement and payments side of your private property business.
Switching, or running both
Run both. Towbook stays your tow and impound system, and Lotably handles your parking contracts: officers scan, warn, and cite, drivers pay online, and when a vehicle has to go, the officer records the tow in Lotably and calls your tow operation in one tap, which you run in Towbook as usual. The two systems don’t connect today.
One system, top to bottom
What every Lotably plan includes
Month to month, no lock-in
No annual contract and no multi-year commitment on Free or Starter. Cancel anytime.
Sign up yourself, set up the same day
Create your account online, add your lots, and connect Stripe in one sitting. You’re live as soon as you sign up.
Every feature on every plan
Enforcement, daily and event parking, monthly applications and plans, billing, scheduled guest passes, merchant validations, dispute evidence, and reports. Some workflows need configuration or enabling. No add-on modules. Booting and towing start off until you ask; you are responsible for following the law where you enforce and assume all risk of using them.
Money lands in your own Stripe account
Payments are direct charges on your Stripe account. Lotably never holds your money or pays you out later.
No app fee for drivers
By default, drivers pay exactly the price you post. Our fee comes out of what you collect online, never from the driver. If you ask, we can add a flat service fee per parking session that goes to you.
Integrations built at no extra cost
Parking BOXX, ParkMobile, and manual/CSV sessions work today. When another vendor offers an API, we build the connection at no extra cost (the vendor may charge for API access).
Published pricing
Free is $0/month plus 12% of online payments. Starter is $99/month for up to 25 lots, plus 5%. Daily parking is at most 35¢ or 25¢ a session. No quote required.
Runs on the phone you have
Plate reading is built into the officer app, which runs in the browser. Daily parking needs a printed QR poster and nothing else.
Questions about Lotably and Towbook
Is Lotably a replacement for Towbook?
No. Towbook runs the tow business: dispatch, impound, liens, and motor clubs. Lotably runs parking enforcement and payments, including citations drivers pay online, permits, guest passes, and daily parking, and many tow companies would use the two together.
Why would a tow company use Lotably?
To sell cite-and-collect enforcement to property clients who don’t want every violation to end in a tow. Officers warn and cite from any phone, drivers pay online in about 30 seconds, and the money lands in your own Stripe account. Towing stays available for the vehicles that have to go.
Does Lotably integrate with Towbook?
Not today. Towbook’s site doesn’t mention a public API, so there is no direct connection. Officers record tows in Lotably and call your tow operation in one tap, and when a vendor offers an API, we build connections at no extra cost (the vendor may charge for API access).
How does pricing compare?
They price different things. Towbook charges by monthly call volume, from $109 a month. Lotably charges by lots and online collections: $0 a month plus 12% on Free, or $99 a month for up to 25 lots plus 5% on Starter, month to month.
