The five signup screens
Start at lotably.com/signup and pick the Free or Starter plan. The Free plan needs no card. Starter asks for a card or US bank account at the end, and the first month is charged when it’s saved.
- 1Create your account: your name, work email, a password of 12 or more characters, your business’s legal name, phone, and your state or province.
- 2Confirm your email: enter the 6-digit code we email you. It works for 30 minutes.
- 3Your business: the name drivers will see and your site address (yourname.lotably.com), checked as you type, plus your support email and phone, time zone, and business address.
- 4Features: everything is on except booting, towing, and USDOT carrier lookup (for ticketing commercial trucks), which start off. Booting and towing are a request: your account goes live without them, and Lotably turns each on afterward and emails you when it’s on. Lotably does not check whether booting or towing is allowed where you enforce: you are responsible for following the law, and you assume all risk of using them.
- 5Review and sign: read the agreement and your order summary, type your full name and title, and confirm your business has written authorization from the owner or manager of every lot you’ll enforce. There’s no letter to upload: keep your authorizations on file. Click Sign and go live (Free) or Sign and continue (Starter, then add your card).
Online signup isn’t open in Quebec yet. Contact Lotably and we’ll set up your account by hand.
When your account goes live
A Free account is live the moment you sign. A Starter account goes live as soon as you save the card or bank account it’s billed to. Until then, your admin shows “Add a payment method to go live,” with a button on Plan & account, and you can already set up lots, fines, users, your ticket layout, and Stripe. We countersign your agreement and email you a copy when you go live.
Until it’s live, officers can’t issue tickets, boots, tows, or warnings, drivers can’t pay or dispute, and your public pages say the site isn’t live yet. If Lotably ever needs something from you first, the banner says so and links to Plan & account, where you can reply and resubmit.
Work through the go-live checklist
Your dashboard shows a card called “Get ready to go live” with only the steps you haven’t finished. It disappears on its own once everything is done, and any admin can hide it.
- 1Create your lots (Add lots). Every ticket, boot, and pass belongs to a lot.
- 2Review violations and fines. The defaults are a starting point, so set your own amounts and increases.
- 3Add your enforcement officers. They sign in on their phones to check plates and issue tickets.
- 4Add your logo. It appears on tickets, the pay page, emails, and the parker portal.
- 5Connect Stripe payouts so drivers can pay online. It takes about 10 minutes.
- 6If you sell parking, set up pay-to-park rates, then print each lot’s QR poster from Lots.
- 7If you have monthly parkers, add them by hand or import a spreadsheet.
Pick your fastest path
Selling daily parking: add your lots, add a rate or two under Pay-to-park rates, connect Stripe, and print each lot’s QR poster. Drivers scan, pay, and park.
Enforcing a lot: add your lots and monthly parkers, review your fines, and add officers. Once you’re live, officers check plates from their phones and ticket cars that aren’t on your roster or paid up.
Common questions
Do I have to wait for approval?
No. Your account goes live by itself: on Free as soon as you sign, on Starter as soon as your card or bank account is saved. There’s no letter to upload. Lotably may still look over new accounts, and booting and towing stay off until Lotably turns them on.
When does billing start on Starter?
The day your account goes live, which is the day you save your card or bank account at the end of signup. The first month is charged then, and that day becomes your billing day.
Can I change features after signup?
Yes. Your features are listed under Plan & account. To turn one on or off, email cody@lotably.com. Booting and towing are turned on by Lotably: if you asked for them at signup, they show as Requested until Lotably turns them on.
