What AIMS is

AIMS Parking Management Software is developed by EDC Corporation of Syracuse, New York.

AIMS is a parking management suite developed by EDC Corporation. It covers citation management with online appeals and payment, permit management with waitlists and payroll deduction, mobile and license plate recognition enforcement, event parking, a customer web portal, and a mobile payment app called AMP Park. It sells to municipalities, universities, hospitals, and airports in the US and Canada.

AIMS says it is trusted by more than 300 clients and that implementations take 12 to 16 weeks. It integrates with campus systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, and Workday, with license plate recognition vendors such as Genetec and Vigilant, and with several gate (PARCS) vendors. According to its website, it doesn’t sell its own hardware.

When AIMS may be the better fit

AIMS is a good fit for large universities and cities that need deep campus integrations such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, and single sign-on, payroll deduction for permits, non-parking violations such as noise or snow, and an in-house support team, and that can plan a multi-month implementation. Lotably is newer and smaller, with no fixed license plate recognition or gate hardware integrations today. It fits campuses, hospitals, and operators that want enforcement, permits, and payments running this week.

Switching, or running both

Lotably can start on one lot or one permit group while your current system keeps running. Export your permit holders and import them into Lotably by CSV, print QR posters for visitor parking, and add paid sessions from other vendors by CSV or by hand so officers see who already paid. When a vendor offers an API for session data, we build the connection at no extra cost (the vendor may charge for API access).
